(Singapore, 7 May 2018) Boutique private bank Bordier & Cie (Bordier) hosted an exclusive private art preview of German artist Tim Bengel’s work at its Singapore office. The event, which marked Bengel’s inaugural debut in Singapore, focused on the unveiling of ‘Marina Bay Sands’, an artistic rendition of the titular landmark in his signature sand and gold.

The work was commissioned by a private collector based in Singapore.

The private event saw a gathering of about 60 guests comprising art collectors and private clients. The Ambassador of Switzerland Fabrice Filliez and his wife were also in attendance, as well as representatives from the German Embassy.

Commenting on the event, CEO and managing partner of Bordier & Cie (Singapore), Evrard Bordier said, “We are very pleased to host an up-and-coming artist like Tim Bengel and give our clients, especially the art enthusiasts among them, an intimate experience of art appreciation where they not only get to see the work in motion, but also the opportunity to meet with the talent behind such creativity. Addressing the crowd before the exclusive unveil, Bengel said, “I am happy to do my first ever reveal in Singapore. I’m glad to be here for the opportunity to meet and talk to art enthusiasts in Asia.”

He added, “I believe in Asia and its bright future in the arts scene. No other continent currently makes a more impressive progress in this area. It’s just the right place and an ideal time to present my work at Bordier in Singapore, as a starting point for many Asian exhibitions.”

With over half a million social media followers, Bengel became a YouTube sensation by sharing videos of the dramatic reveal of his artworks. Two of his videos were viewed a combined 250 million times.

In the past year, Bengel has exhibited his works in New York, Miami and Florence to glowing reviews.
